Connecting GX30 to Your PC

You can use the following functions by connecting the
GX30 to your PC using an infrared port or USB port*:

• GSM/GPRS modem

• Handset Manager for GX30
* Requires an optional USB data cable XN-1DC30 for
USB port connection.

GSM/GPRS Modem
You can use GX30 as a GSM/GPRS modem to access
the Internet from your PC. Connect your phone to your
PC via the Infrared connection or a USB cable and
install the necessary software. For details, see
"Software Installation" on page 192.

Modem via the Infrared Connection
To use the modem function via the Infrared connection,
see "Using the Infrared Function (For Modem)" on
page 175 and turn the modem function on.
Modem via the USB Cable
To use the modem function using a USB cable, use the

accompanying the cable.

Note
• Modem communication is not possible whilst
communicating with the Handset Manager via the
Infrared connection or USB cable.

Handset Manager

You can transmit picture, sound and video clip, and
Contacts List entries between your phone and your PC,
and can use Contacts List entries on your PC.
To use the Handset Manager function, see "PC
Software" on page 175 and set your phone to Data
Transfer mode.
