12) Install timing belt (63) ensuring that it fits perfectly in pulleys
and that is well tensioned on the fixed side (belt going through
the crankshaft pulley, auxiliary organs group pulley, tensioner
and camshaft pulley).
13) Install lower timing cover (64) and tighten bolts (62) to the
specified tightening torque.
62
Tightening torque for lower cover bolt:
0,75 Kg-m (7,5 Nm)
14) Put belt under tension withdrawing key (M) in such a way
N
that linkage (55) acts on tensioner roller (56), and this one
56
acts tensioning belt (63).
Check timing belt
15) Check as follows:
• Withdraw tool (N) for locking and synchronization of the
auxiliary organs group.
• Remove tool (H) for engine flywheel locking and n° 1 piston
(T.D.C.) synchronization.
• Turn crankshaft two complete turns till fitting again tool (H)
in milled slot ( ) of the engine flywheel. Then, check
coincidence of the control points for synchronization (see
operating steps, 10) and 11).
NOTE:
If the above mentioned conditions are no fulfilled, ca-
rry out a new trial fitting of the timing belt.
Timing belt tension inspection
16) Unlock engine flywheel (tool (H)) and the driving gear of the
auxiliary organs group (tool (N)).
17) Apply to crankshaft (65) a torque of 2,8 ÷ 3 Kgm to put belt
slightly tensioned.
18) Tighten tensioner nut (56) to the specified tightening torque.
41
Tightening torque for tensioner nut:
4 Kg-m (40 Nm)
19) Check that belt (63) tension is at its specified value tension
using special tool ref. 00000A01484 placed on centered point
( ).
56
NOTE:
HSN (High Strength Nitrile) belt tension value, measured
on point (
be 88 ÷ 112 Hz.
65
20) Tighten camshaft drive gear screws (41) to the specified
tightening torque.
Tightening torque for camshaft screws :
2,5 Kg-m (25 Nm)
) using special tool ref. 00000A01484, must
