• Set up dial gauge (B) as shown in the figure: fix support to
hub and place dial gauge with the measuring tip touching
the adjusting nut (6).
• Measure the longitudinal play of the hub which must agree
with the specified value; otherwise, tighten or loose adjusting
nut (6) till getting the optimum play.
Longitudinal bushing play:
0.05 ÷ 0.10 mm
• Once obtained the specified longitudinal play, install new
cotter pin (7) and counter nut (38) tightening it to the
C
specified tightening torque using key (C) ref: 161950.
Tightening torque for counter nut fixing bushing:
12 ÷ 14 Kg-m (120 ÷ 140 Nm)
NOTE:
Once applied the final tightening torque to counter
nut (38) check again the longitudinal play which must
remain at the value 0.05 ÷ 0.10 mm.
• Block nuts position bending one wing of the cotter pin (7)
towards counter nut (38) and the other one towards the
adjusting nut (6).
• Ensure that coupling surfaces between flange and hub are
4 clean.
• Apply a coat of the recommended sealant in the coupling

surface of the dragging flange (5) and fix it to hub with
screws (4) tightened to the specified tightening torque.
Tightening torque for screws fixing dragging flange:
3.5 ÷ 4.25 Kg-m (35 ÷ 42.5 Nm)
