Starting and Operating Instructions
Engine Flooding
If the engine is flooded with too
much gasoline, slowly push the
accelerator pedal all the way to the
floor and hold it there as you start
the engine.
If the engine does not start within
15 seconds, the system will stop
cranking the engine to prevent
starter motor gear damage.
If the engine starts briefly but then
stops again, repeat this procedure.
NOTICE
Pressing the keyless ignition
start button immediately after
cranking has ended can over-
heat and damage the starter
motor and drain your battery.
Wait about 15 seconds
between each try to help avoid
draining your battery or
damaging your starter.

■ STOPPING THE
ENGINE
Automatic Transmission
To turn off the engine, press and
hold the off/accessory button
when the gear selector is in P
(Park).
If the gear selector is not in P
(Park), the vehicle will go into
accessory mode and the Driver
Information Center will display
SHIFT TO PARK. Once the vehicle
is shifted into P (Park), the engine
will turn off.
If the keyless access transmitter is
not detected in the vehicle, the
Driver Information Center will
display NO FOB - OFF OR RUN?.

information.
Manual Transmission
To turn off the engine, press the
off/accessory button when the
gear selector is in R (Reverse).
Set the parking brake.
If the keyless access transmitter is
not detected in the vehicle, the
Driver Information Center will
display NO FOB - OFF OR RUN?.

information.
