Starting and Operating Instructions
■ KEYLESS ACCESS
SYSTEM
Modifications made to this system
by anyone other than an autho-
rized service facility may void
authorization to use the system.
CAUTION
Do not leave children in the
vehicle with the keyless access
transmitter.
The children could operate the
power windows or other
controls and could even start
the vehicle and make the vehi-
cle move.
A child or others could be
injured or even killed.
Do not leave children unattend-
ed in the vehicle.

With this system you can lock and
unlock your doors and release your
trunk/hatch from about 3 meters
(10 ft) away from the vehicle.
The keyless access system also
replaces the more traditional vehi-
cle ignition and starting systems.

The keyless access system allows
you to lock or unlock your doors
and access your trunk passively,
without even removing the trans-
mitter from your pocket, purse,
etc. You do not need to use the
transmitter buttons.
• Keyless Unlocking
The door will unlock automati-
cally when you squeeze the
door handle sensor, as long as
the keyless access transmitter is
with you. This is called passive
entry.
Note that when you use pas-
sive entry to open the passen-
ger door first, the driver's door
also unlocks.
