Problem/Cause
The machine is preforming
"
image adjustment opera-
tions.
You may have loaded the
paper incorrectly.
The side guides of the pa-
per tray may not be locked
or may not be set properly.
The end guide of the paper
tray may not be locked.
You may have loaded pa-
per whose size cannot be
detected automatically.
The saddle stitching staple
cartridge for the Finisher
MEC BK (Saddle Stitch)
has been removed.
The specified paper size
differs from the actual size
of the paper loaded in the
paper tray.
When a misfeed message
appears, it remains until
you open and close the cov-
er, as required.
You cannot use the paper
in the bypass tray for du-
plex printing.
The setting for the Paper
Type: Tray 1-3 is "1 Sided
Copy".
Depending on the type of
paper, the paper may
spring open after it is fold-
ed.
Users are restricted by user
codes.
Action
The machine may perform periodic
maintenance during operations. The
frequency and duration of mainte-
nance depends on the humidity,
temperature, and printing factors
such as number of prints, paper
size, and paper type. Wait for the
machine to get ready.
Load paper into the large capacity
tray (LCT) and a bypass tray with
the print side up, or into a paper
tray with the print side down. See
p.105 "B Loading Paper".
Check the side guides are locked
and set properly. See p.124 "Chang-
ing the Paper Size".
Check that the end guide is locked.
See p.124 "Changing the Paper
Size".
When you use paper of a size that
cannot be detected automatically,
set the paper size. See p.58 "Tray Pa-
per Size: (Tray 2-3)", p.176 "Copy
Paper".
Reset the saddle stitching staple car-
tridge. See p.126 "d Adding Sta-
ples".
Select the appropriate paper type
with User Tools, or use the appro-
priate paper.
Clear misfed paper and open and
close the front cover. ⇒ p.114 "x
Clearing Misfeeds"
For duplex printing, select Tray 1-3
in Copier mode or with the printer
driver.
Select "2 Sided Copy" for Paper
Type: Tray 1-3. See p.58 "Paper
Type: (Tray 1-3, LCT)".
Select a paper type that does not
spring back easily .
Enter the user code (up to 8-digits),
and then press [#].
