1. Remove upper and lower louvers.
. Release the clamps on the bottom of the fireplace.

3. Tilt glass frame out and lift glass frame up until it clears
the hook on top of the frame.
4. Set glass frame aside.

noTe: A mesh glass cover is available for this fireplace.
This cover is recommended to reduce the severity of burns
in case of accidental contact. Refer to the Accessories list
on Page 55.
AVERTISSEMENT
RoCk wool plaCeMenT
1. For best results in flame appearance and opera-
tion:
a. If your fireplace was supplied with three (3) 8-
gram bags of rock wool embers: Use one (1) 8
gram bag or rock wool for propane/LP models
and up to three (3) bags of rock wool for natural
gas models depending on the size of your fire-
place.
b. If your fireplace was supplied with one (1) 40-
gram bag of rock wool embers: Use no more than 1/5
(8 grams) of the total amount of rock wool supplied
in the 40 gram bag for propane/LP models and up to
3/4 of the 40 gram bag of rock wool for natural gas
models depending on the size of your fireplace.
Use the following chart as a guide to how much rock
wool to use:

cause flame to burn poorly and may cause
sooting.

BDV rock wool place
. Pull the rock wool apart into dime-sized pieces or
smaller. Cover the entire surface of the burner with one
thin layer of rock wool.
3. Place the logs on the burner. Refer to the "Log Place-
ment Section". Light the unit and after 15 minutes check
burner flame and glow. Adjust embers as necessary to
achieve an even and clean flame.
