Top Mount Models

throughout the fresh food and freezer

s o u rce .
2. Ma k e su re th a t t h e d o o r i s clo se d an d

service cord terminal blades.

rel a y f ro m
the
c o mp re s so r .
4. lf th e c o n d e n se r a n d tre e zer fa n
mo t o rs a re o p e ra ti ve th e me te r sh ou ld
read about 40 ohms. lf the freezer tan
is inoper ative t he meter should r ead
appr oxim at ely 150 ohms.
NOT E: Ohm and wat tage r eadings ar e
just approxim at es and may vary in
eit her direction.
The freezer fan motor can be tested by the
dir e ct method by pr oceeding as f ollov v s :
1 , D isconnect t he unit f rom pow er
sour ce.
2 . R em ove the f acade (f acia).
3 . R e m o v e t h e d i v i d e r c h a n n e l .
4 . S lide the plastic Ir eezer bot tom out of
the cabinet.
5. Remove the styrofoam evaporator
cover . lt is im por tant t hat t his be
r e p l a c e d i n t h e o r i g i n a l p o s i t i o n .
6 . Pull t he fan m otor assembly half way
out and disconnect t he leads. The w ire
leads are self- locking and it is
impor tant to squeeze t he clip befor e
p u l l i n g i t o u t .
P u l l t h e m o t o r a s s e m b l y o u t o f t h e
cabinet and place it on a w ork sur fac e.
Connect the motor t erminals to a
service cord and plug t he service cor d
to t he power source,
lf the mot or f ails t o operat e it is
defective and must be replaced.
