Front Brake Fluid Level Inspection
and Adjustment
1. Upper level line
2. Lower level line
The brake fluid level in the reservoirs must be
kept between the upper and lower level lines
(reservoir held horizontal).
To inspect the fluid level, check the level of
fluid visible in the window at the front of the
reservoir body.
To adjust the fluid level, release the cap
screws and detach the cover noting the
position of the sealing diaphragm.
Fill the reservoir to the upper level line using
new DOT 4 fluid from a sealed container.
Install the cover, ensuring that the diaphragm
seal is correctly positioned between the cap
and reservoir body. Tighten the cap retaining
screws to 13lb in (1.5 Nm).

To inspect the fluid level:
The reservoir is visible from the right hand
side of the motorcycle, through a viewing
window in the riders heel guard.
To adjust the fluid level loosen the screws and
remove the heel guard.
Release the cap screws and detach the cover
noting the position of the sealing diaphragm.
Fill the reservoir to the upper level line using
new DOT 4 fluid from a sealed container.
Install the cover, ensuring that the diaphragm
seal is correctly positioned between the cap
and reservoir body. Tighten the cap retaining
screws to 13lb in (1.5 Nm).
Install the heel guard and tighten its fasteners
to 62lb in (7 Nm).
