CHECKING THE HT COIL

• Remove the left side inspection cover (see
REMOVING THE LEFT INSPECTION COVER).
• Disconnect the terminal (1).
• Unscrew and remove the two screws (2).
• Disconnect the spark plug cap (3).
• Remove the coil (4).
Use a pocket tester (scale 200 Ω) to measure the
•
resistance (coil side) between the terminals shown
in the figure (A and B).
• If the resistance is incorrect, replace the coil.
Standard value: 0.6 Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω ± 0.1 Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω
• Also check the resistance between the high
voltage terminal and the coil casing.
Standard value: 7.4 kΩ Ω Ω Ω Ω
CAUTION
Before measuring, remove the HT cable complete
with spark plug cap.
