3. Rinse the bottom cover in water (especially around the print array
opening) until all ink buildup is removed (Figure 4.2). For stubborn
buildup, soak the cover in water overnight.

WARNING
Before disposing of ink buildup, dilute it with water until colorless. Follow
all federal, state, and local regulations regarding chemical disposal.
4. Replace the bottom cover with the spare cover provided at
installation; be sure to align the slot on the bottom cover with the print
array.
5. Let the replaced bottom cover air dry.

Cleaning the Printhead

The printhead may be cleaned at any time during printer operations. The
printhead should be cleaned under the following circumstances:
Before printing, when the POC is bypassed
After every 8 hours of run time
When the printhead bottom cover is cleaned
When the printhead is dirty
When required by the procedure being performed.
To perform a printhead clean, press [CLEAN PRINTHEAD]. The fluid
system powers down and the eyelid closes. When the cleaning cycle is
complete, [CLEAN PRINTHEAD] goes off and [STANDBY] comes on,
indicating the fluid system is on.
