The Global Setup Menu

The settings on this menu are separate for each line: changing the settings for
line 1 will not affect line 2, and vice versa. However, the settings for each line
apply to all stations whenever they use that line.
Before changing these settings, make sure the phone is in standby and all
handsets are within range of the base. (Only one station at a time can change
these settings.)

Special Feature Menus

The following menus control specifi c features of your phone. These menus are
explained under the section that describes the feature in detail:
Menu:
Retrieve Msg
(handset only)
Ans. Setup
Call Blocking
Register
Handset
(base only)
Global Setup
Use it to:
Enter your area code so the phone hides the area code on incom-
ing local calls. (See "Using Seven-Digit Dialing" on page 25.)
Change the way your phone communicates with the telephone
network. (See "Changing from Tone to Pulse Dialing" on page 9.)
Do not change this setting unless instructed to by customer
service.
(Base only) Reset the voice message waiting indicator to bring it
back into sync with your voice mail service. (See "Using Voice Message
Notifi cation" on page 34.)
Use it to:
Access your answering system
from a cordless handset.
Change the settings for the
answering system on each line.
Block unwanted calls from
up to 20 phone numbers and
manage your call block list.
Add new handsets or reset
a handset that isn't working
properly.
