19.IR HotSync operations
To configure HotSync Manager for infrared communication:
1.Click the HotSync Manager icon in the Windows system tray. Make sure
"Infrared" option is selected.If you can't see "Infrared" option in the
function list of HotSync Manager,please follow the steps as bellow.
2.Make sure "Local Serial" is checked on the menu.
3.Choose "Setup".
4.Click the "Local" tab.
In the Serial Port drop-menu, select the COM port that was given as
the simulated port in the Options tab of the Infrared Monitor.

Performing an IR HotSync operation

After you complete the steps to prepare for an IR HotSync operation it is
easy to perform the actual operation.
To perform an IR HotSync operation:
1.In the Applications Launcher, tap the HotSync icon.
2.Tap "Local".
3.Tap the pick list below the HotSync icon and select IR to a PC/Handheld.
4.Position the IR port of your G18 within a couple of inches of the infrared
port of your computer.
5.Tap the HotSync icon to start the IR HotSync operation.

Using HotSync cable for HotSync operations

It's easy to return to use the HotSync cable for HotSync operations.
To return to HotSync cable synchronization operations:
1.Connect the HotSync cable to a serial (COM) port on your computer.
2.Click the HotSync Manager icon in the Windows system tray.
3.Choose Setup, and then click "Local."
4.Select the COM port where your HotSync cable is connected.
5.Click "OK".
