terminals
After the installation of Desktop ,please pay attention to what is below:
If you are a fresh user, you can skip the following steps; if you are a former
palm OS user and you are using a G18 for the first time, use a new user
name at the Desktop, you can skip the following steps. But if you want the
data to be transferred from the previous database to G18, please follow the
methods and steps as below:
Method 1:
Synchronize using the previous Desktop user name and G18 directly. But
there is a
note that the phone can't be synchronized with the Desktop user any
longer. The detail of the steps is what as below:
1) Backup the user data.
For every Desktop user, the Palm Desktop will create a directory in the
installed directory. The directory, which stores all the user data, is known
as the user directory. For example, if the user name is Jack,and the installed
directory is "C:\Program Files\Palm",then the user data is stored at the
directory "C:\Program Files\Palm\Jack". Please backup all of the data in
the user directory to other directory, any other directory besides the new
user directory.
2)Delete all of the files in the Backup directory which is under the user
directory.
Note: Some documents in the Backup directory may possibly only be
usable by the previous phone, it is relative with the hardware and any
particular system software of the previous phone. Downloading them to
other incompatible phone or G18, may result in abnormal running of the
phone. In this case , please use method 3.
3) Synchronize.
