Advanced Wi-Fi Settings and Network Utilities

Menu

To modify how the Wi-Fi radio reacts when the terminal enters sleep (Suspend) mode, adjust the Wi-Fi
idle timeout or view the terminal MAC address and IP address.
1. Touch
> Settings
2. Press the Menu button, then touch Advanced.
3. Select one of the following settings:
a. Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep
This setting determines how the Wi-Fi radio reacts when the terminal enters sleep (Standby)
mode. Select one of the options provided: Always, Only when plugged in (default), or Never.
b. Wi-Fi idle timeout
This setting determines how long the Wi-Fi may be idle before the radio is automatically turned
off. Select one of the options provided: 1 minute, 3 minutes, 15 minutes (default), 30 minutes,
1 hour, or 3 hours.
Note: The terminal MAC address and IP address are displayed on the Advanced menu screen.

Wi-Fi Radio Settings Power Tool

The Wi-Fi Radio Settings network utility provides several options for advanced configuration of the Wi-
Fi 802.11 radio in the terminal. Access the utility to:
• Identify the channels to be used for 2.4GHz and 5GHz communication.
• Enable/disable roaming, adjust the roaming threshold, define the AP Diff value (dBm), set the
roaming scan period, or enable/disable Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) roaming.
• Identify the Tx Rates to be used.
• Modify power save options.
• Enable/disable Wi-Fi Multimedia extensions/Quality of Service (WMM/QoS).
• Enable/disable Random AP selection and set the RandomAP minimum RSSI value.
• Specify the Beacon Loss Count.

Wireless Manager Power Tool

The Wireless Manager network utility provides access to:
• Enable/disable the Wi-Fi radio.
• Create a Wi-Fi - Favorites list.
• Scan and add networks.
• View general information on current and scanned access points.
• View detailed information on the current access point and roaming statistics.
