Rewriting the firmware (PCL/PS Program, Main Program)
Setting by country
- How to rewrite the firmware by using the USB flash memory drive
If you save program files in the USB flash memory drive and plug it into the USB direct
interface, you can rewrite the firmware and set the country.
Note:
- If the firmware rewriting fails in process, use the "FILEDG32.EXE" for rewriting the
firmware. (Refer to "How to rewrite the firmware by using the "FILEDG32.EXE".)
- Make sure that the USB flash memory drive has enough space to save the program file.
- If you want to print an index of the files, choose "Index Print". The "Index Print" selection
can be found after you scroll down through all the file names. Press the OK or Go button.
(1) Save the necessary program files to be prepared in the "hl4000" folder (such as
PCL/PS Program, Main Program and files to set by country) to rewrite into the USB
flash memory drive.
(2) Connect the USB flash memory drive to the USB direct interface on the front of the
machine.
(3) When the machine has recognized the USB flash memory drive, the "Checking device/
Please wait" message appears on the LCD.
(4) "Direct Print" is displayed on the first line of the LCD message, and the file names will
be shown on the second line of the LCD. Press the
necessary program file, and press the OK button.
(5) "Program Update/ Press Go" appears on the LCD. Press the OK or Go button to start.
"Program Updating/ Do not turn OFF" message appears on the LCD with Data LED
blinking while rewriting the firmware. DO NOT turn off the machine.
(6) After the completion of the firmware rewriting, "Direct Print" is displayed on the first line
of the LCD message, and the file names will be shown on the second line of the LCD
again.
(7) Choose the necessary program file to rewrite next, and then follow the steps from (4) to
(6).
Note:
It is recommendable to rewrite 1) PCL/PS Program, 2) Main Program and 3) File to set
by country in this order.
