- always select a shallow planing depth and repeat the
planing and adjusting process until the required
depth is reached
• Chip outlet 6
- select desired chip outlet side (left or right) with
switch G
- connect vacuum cleaner with adapter H to selected
chip outlet as illustrated
- one may also connect dust bag J to the selected
chip outlet as illustrated
! do not attempt to remove any obstructions from
the chip outlet while knives are rotating
• Safety support K 7
- protects workpiece from damage when tool is put
aside
- will automatically fold backwards when planing
• Operating the tool
- adjust planing depth
- place tool on workpiece
! ensure that only the front shoe rests on the
workpiece and that the knives do not touch it
- switch on the tool by fi rst pressing knob L 2 (=
safety switch which cannot be locked) and then
pulling trigger M 2
! before the knives reach the workpiece, the tool
should run at full speed
- hold the tool fi rmly with both hands and guide it
forward in a continuous stroke 8
! while working, always hold the tool at the grey-
coloured grip area(s)
- use the tool with its base-plate on the workpiece
- do not tilt the tool in order to avoid unwanted planing
marks
- keep ventilation slots Q 2 uncovered
! before switching off the tool, you should lift it
from the workpiece
- switch off the tool by releasing trigger M
• Planing rabbets 9
- select required planing depth
- select rabbeting depth by using rabbeting depth
adjuster N
- place tool on workpiece
- start planing
- maximum rabbeting width 82 mm
- maximum rabbeting depth 15 mm
• When planing rabbets you will achieve better results by
using rip fence P to adjust rabbeting width 0
APPLICATION ADVICE
• For chamfering edges use the V-grooves in the front
shoe !
- set knob D in "0" position
- select one of the 3 V-grooves
! always test out first on a piece of scrap material
• Vibration level
The vibration emission level stated at the back of this
instruction manual has been measured in accordance
with a standardised test given in EN 60745; it may be
used to compare one tool with another and as a
preliminary assessment of exposure to vibration when
using the tool for the applications mentioned

- using the tool for different applications, or with
different or poorly maintainted accessories, may
signifi cantly increase the exposure level
- the times when the tool is switched off or when it is
running but not actually doing the job, may
signifi cantly reduce the exposure level
! protect yourself against the effects of vibration by
maintaining the tool and its accessories, keeping
your hands warm, and organizing your work
patterns
MAINTENANCE / SERVICE
• Always keep tool and cord clean (especially the
ventilation slots Q 2)
• If the tool should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be
carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL
power tools
- send the tool undismantled together with proof of
purchase to your dealer or the nearest SKIL service
station (addresses as well as the service diagram of
the tool are listed on www.skil.com.br)

• In case of discard of that product don't throw in the
common garbage, conduce it for accredited
technical support Skil that will give the appropriate
destiny, following criteria of no aggression to the
environment, recycling the parts and accomplishing
the effective local legislation !
