Setting volume level

The audio level can be adjusted through 32 levels.
Push [↕] to set the desired audio level.
• Beep tone sounds while setting. This indicates the approximate
sound level. (default behaviour; p. 40)
• Pushing and holding these keys changes the audio level contin-
uously.
• One of the LCDs shows the volume level while setting.

Setting squelch level

The squelch circuit mutes the received audio signal depend-
ing on the signal strength. The receiver has 9 squelch levels,
a continuously open setting and an automatic squelch setting.
While pushing [SQL], rotate the
[DIAL] to select the squelch level.
• The first click of [DIAL] indicates the
current squelch level.
• "LEVEL1" is loose squelch and
"LEVEL9" is tight squelch.
• "AUTO" indicates automatic level
adjustment with a noise pulse count
system.
• "OPEN" indicates continuously open
setting.
