Chapter 9 — Options
Real Time Clock
The Real Time Clock circuit (RTC) relieves the operator or the host
from having to set the clock/calendar using the Intermec Fingerprint
instructions DATE$ and TIME$ after each power up. The RTC has its
own backup battery backup that will last 10 years or more.
Internal Fan-Fold Guide
This guide facilitates media load from an external supply to the rear of
the printer and provides superior guiding of the media. It can not be
used in connection with peel-off (self-strip) operation and cannot be
combined with a label slack absorber, which may restrict the maximum
print speed somewhat.
Side Door with Keylock
If the media is valuable or sensitive, such as tickets, you can install a side
door that can be locked with a key. Can be installed by the operator.
Paper Sensor
The paper sensor is fi tted inside a plastic cover below the media supply
post or hub and detects when the remaining media has a diameter less
than specifi ed in the Setup Mode (see Chapter 6).
CompactFlash Protection Plate
The protection plate encloses an inserted CompactFlash card and makes
it more diffi cult to steal. See Chapter 3 for illustration.
Special Printheads
As standard, the printer is fi tted with an 8 dots/mm (203.2 dots/inch)
thermal printhead. There are also a number of optional printheads for
special applications. The printhead can easily be replaced by the operator
as described in Chapter 11.
