power cycle the modem. Doing so will destroy data that may be useful for troubleshooting.

power supply, disconnect the AC power cord from the power source (power strip, wall outlet,
or surge protector). If the satellite modem uses a DC/DC power supply, disconnect the DC input
cable connector from the modem's power supply. In either case (AC/DC or DC/DC), do not
unplug the power cord from the satellite modem's rear panel. Doing so could result in static
electricity discharge that could shock you and/or damage the modem.
