Checking Rotating PowerBrush and Replace Drive Belt Continued
Remove the four screws as shown with a small Phillips

head screwdriver.
Push Clearview window outwards from underneath. Turn unit

right side up to remove window.
Grasp rotating PowerBrush and lift out. Note the white end

caps are removable and may come apart from the brush roll.
Clean strings, hair and other debris from rotating

PowerBrush and Motor Pulley area.
Remove old Drive Belt and discard. Loop new Drive Belt over

Motor Pulley and rotating PowerBrush. Slide the white end
caps on the sides of the PowerBrush into the slots on the
sides as shown. Check brush to make sure it turns freely.
Reposition the Clearview window. Turn the unit over and

gently push window at the two points shown to snap
into place.
Replace the four screws and tighten.

Troubleshooting

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of

and/ or electrical shock,
turn Power Switch OFF
and disconnect polarized
plug from electrical out-
let before performing
troubleshooting checks.

Vacuum cleaner won't run.
Possible Causes
Vacuum cleaner is not plugged in
Household fuse/breaker
Vacuum cleaner won't pick up dirt.
Possible Causes
Dirt Cup is full
Filter Dirty
Hose not secure in Hose Nozzle
Dirt Cup not sealed against Canister
Vacuum path clogged
Rotating PowerBrush Drive Belt broken Replace Drive Belt
Drive Belt stretched
Rotating PowerBrush bristles worn
Rotating PowerBrush jammed
Remedies
Check electrical plug
Check/replace fuse - Reset breaker
Call BISSELL Consumer Services
Remedies
Empty Dirt Cup
Check and remove debris. Clean
Check to be sure Hose is snapped
into place at back of canister
Open Dirt Cup, make sure filter gasket
is pushed into place. Replace Dirt Cup
pressing firmly until lock button snaps
into place
Visually check Floor Nozzle, Hose Port,
Crevice Tool, and Hose for anything
that might be obstructing the vacuum
path. Carefully remove blockage
Replace Drive Belt
Replace PowerBrush
Remove PowerBrush and clean debris
from brush and ends
