Currently, PDF417 can only be interfaced with the following host types:
Direct RS-232 (refer to page 2-5)

RS-232 via Synapse (refer to page 2-6)

Keyboard Wedge (refer to page 2-7).

The RS-232 Host Types that support PDF417 are:
Standard RS-232C

PDT 330
