Decode UPC/EAN Supplementals

Supplementals are additionally appended characters (2 or 5) according to specific code
format conventions (e.g., UPC A+2, UPC E+2, EAN 8+2). Three options are available.
If UPC/EAN with supplemental characters is selected, UPC/EAN symbols without

supplemental characters are not decoded.
If UPC/EAN without supplemental characters is selected, and the LS 400Xi is
t
presented with a UPC/EAN plus supplemental symbol, the UPC/EAN is decoded
and the supplemental characters ignored.
An autodiscriminate option is also available. If this option is selected, choose an
t
appropriate
A value of 5 or more is recommended.
Note: In order to minimize the risk of invalid data transmission, it is
recommended that you select whether to read or ignore supplemental
characters.
