Loosen the two silver captive Torx screws on the heat sink (2), and then lift the heat sink out of the
computer.
To replace the heat sink, reverse the removal procedures.

To remove the heat sink:

Prepare the computer for disassembly (see

In the order indicated on the heat sink, loosen the four silver captive Torx screws (1) – (4).
CAUTION:
the downward forces on the processor. This is especially important as the pins on the socket are
very fragile and any damage to them may require replacing the system board.

If still installed, remove the Torx screw on the left part of the heat sink (5).
