6 − Recording

Specifying the name of the recording file

You can specify the file name before recording, so that it is
automatically assigned during recording.
You'll use the menu to make this setting (for details on
menu operations, refer to "Operations in the menu screens"
on page 16).

Press the
MENU
key to access the main menu list
screen.

Open the REC menu.

Highlight the PREFERENCE item.

Press the front panel ˚ key (or the remote's
¥ key) to proceed to the REC PREFERENCE
screen.

Select the WORD CLIP item.

Turn the
dial (or use the remote's
MULTI JOG
§ , ¶ keys) to select one of the following choices.
: (default setting)
DATE
The date and time of the SS-R1/SS-R05's clock will be
the file name.
:
USER0 1 – USER03
The user-specified text string (eight characters) will be
the file name.

To edit and store a text string, proceed as follows.

With one of the choices
press the ˚ key.
The editing screen will appear.

Edit the text string as follows.
To change the editing location (cursor position):
Use the front panel ∆ , ˚ keys (or the remote's
˙ , ¥ keys).

To delete a character:
Press the front panel

To delete all characters following the cursor position:
Press and hold down the front panel

To cancel your editing:

When you've finished editing, press the

The edited text string will be finalized, and you will
return to the PREFERENCE menu.
