Connecting the Power Source

Inline Power Option

1. Connect one end of the included Ethernet cable to the Ethernet jack on the back of the phone.
2. Connect the remaining end of the Ethernet cable to the PoE wall jack.
Network connectivity is provided through the PoE wall jack, allowing an optional
PC connection through the IP phone.

Power Specifications

The IP 706 and IP 712 phones support the following powering specifications:
IEEE 802.3af powering on signal or spare pairs independent of polarity
Presents a valid IEEE 802.3af detection signature on both the signal and spare pairs
Presents a Class 2 signature when a valid signature is required
Draws less than 6.49 W of power under normal operating conditions
All powering over telecommunication wiring must be via UL-listed power supplies with
outputs of 48 VDC  1 percent, 350 mA maximum.
