Condensate Drain Line and Condensate Trap

A condensate drain line and Condensate Trap must be installed where a Condensate Drain Section is used.
The Condensate Trap is to be incorporated into the condensate drain line.
Where the installation requires a condensate drain line
and Condensate Trap:
1.
Find an appropriate location for condensate trap to
be mounted.
2.
Install as shown in the diagram. The loop of the
condensate trap must be below the spigot of the
condensate
drain
drainage.
Secure to wall with pipe clamp supplied.
Fill the condensate trap with water.
3.
Fit the shorter end of silicone tube to the 13mm
4.
spigot of the condensate drain section, ensuring a
constant fall. Secure with worm drive clamp
supplied.
Plumb outlet of condensate trap to drain.
5.
The drain line should be as short as possible, have a continuous fall all the way from the Condensate
Trap to the discharge outlet and have no tap, valves or other restrictions in the pipe work.
The outlet of the drain line must be in such a position that flow can be easily seen, but arranged so the
condensate will not cause injury, damage or nuisance.
Run 32mm combined condense and pressure relief line (UPVC) to outside of building preferably over gully
trap.
WARNING:
Failure to fill with water may cause flue gasses to escape through condensate trap.
Check regularly to ensure the condensate trap is filled with water, replenishing when required.
Note: AS3500.4 section 5.12, is used as a guide in preparing the following drainage
recommendations.
As the condensate is mildly acidic, copper tube and fittings must not be used as it will corrode.
Use UUPVC (Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride) or PE (polyethylene) piping.
The outlet of the drain line must be in such a position that flow can be easily seen, but arranged so that
discharge will not cause injury, damage or nuisance.
The drain line must not discharge onto electrical connections, earth stakes, copper pipe, concrete paths
or into a pond.
