Stop the vehicle, see p. 37 (STOPPING).
Rotate the key (1) and move the ignition
switch (2) to position ≈ ∆.
Move the fuel tap lever (3) to position
≈OFF∆.
Position the vehicle on the stand, see
beside ().
NOTE
Never leave the key in the ignition
switch.
Lock the steering, see p. 19 (STEERING
LOCK) and extract the key.

POSITIONING THE VEHICLE
ON THE STAND
Seize the left grip (4) and the passenger
grab strap (5).
WARNING
Danger of fall or overturning.
When the vehicle is straightened from
the parking position to the driving
position, the stand goes automatically
up.
Press the side stand with your right foot
and extend it completely (6).
Incline the vehicle until the stand rests
on the ground.
WARNING
Make sure that the vehicle is stable.

TO PREVENT THEFT
Do not use any "brake lock" devices.
F a i l u r e t o h e e d t h i s w a r n i n g c a n
seriously damage the braking system
and lead to an accident thus provoking
serious injuries or death.
NEVER leave the ignition key inserted and
always use the steering lock. Park the
vehicle in a safe place, possibly in a
garage or a protecte d place. When
possible, use an additional anti-theft
device. Make sure that all documents are
in order and the road tax has been paid.
