10. Replace the memory expansion board and Processor and Memory
Module by reversing steps 1 through 3.
11. Turn on the server.
12. If the server does not power up, verify that system interconnect status
indicators are normal. See Table 7-3 in Chapter 7, "Server Power."
13. Verify that the memory was installed correctly by reviewing the POST
messages on the system console or memory information under the
System Information Menu of the IMD. See Chapter 9, "Integrated
Management Log" for more information.

External Storage Devices

Optional mass storage devices can be connected to the ProLiant DL760 server
by installing a PCI expansion board with an external connector.
For information on attaching to PCI/PCI-X expansion boards, refer to the
ProLiant 8500 Cable Guide located on the following Compaq website:
www.compaq.com/products/servers/ProLiant8500/cableguide.html
For information on adding or removing PCI expansion boards, see the
"Adding Non-Hot-Plug Expansion Boards" section later in this chapter.
To install an external storage device, refer to the installation documentation
that came with the external storage device. The following illustration provides
only an overview of this installation.
1. If the server is on, place it in Standby mode and disconnect the power
cord or cords. See Chapter 7, "Server Power."
2. If the external storage device is on, disconnect the power to the device.
3. Connect one end of the SCSI cable to the external VHDCI SCSI
connector on the rear panel of the server.
