The display hinge holds the display screen at
easy-to-view angles.
The LCD displays high-contrast text and
graphics. The computer's WXGA screen consists
of 1280 × 800 pixels. Refer to
and Modes
in Appendix B.
When the computer operates on the AC adaptor
the display screen's image will be somewhat
brighter than when it operates on battery power.
The lower brightness level is intended to save
battery power.
The speakers emit sound generated by your
software as well as audio alarms, such as low
battery condition, generated by the system.
A built-in microphone lets you record sounds into
your applications. Refer to
in Chapter 4, Operating Basics.
Press the power button to turn the computer's
power on and off.
LEDs let you monitor the status of various
computer functions. Details are given in the
Indicators
section.
Pressing this button in the power-off condition
will run Express Media Player. Once Express
Media Player is launched, DVD/CD LED turns on
and the audio button is enabled. Meanwhile,
when Express Media Player/Windows is running
and Standby mode, pressing this button will do
nothing.
Pressing this button while Express Media Player/
Windows is running will toggle mode between
Express Media Player/Windows and AV Input. In
Monitor mode, both DVD/CD and Digital Audio
indictors are on and the Audio button is disabled.
Pressing this button in the power-off condition
will do nothing.
