Windows sound system compatible sound
system provides internal speakers and
microphone as well as jacks for an external
microphone and headphone.
This S-Video port lets you transfer NTSC or PAL
data to external devices.
Used for displaying video from your digital
camcorder or video recorder on the internal LCD.
This port can be used also as line-in port and
enables connection of a stereo device for audio
input.
Used for toggling between the CD/DVD mode
and the Digital Audio mode while Windows is
running. Refer to Chapter 4,
for details.
Audio/Video control buttons let you use the
computer's optical media drive as a stand-alone
audio CD player. You can also use the buttons to
control the computer's DVD video player and
Windows Media player when the system is on.
This jack outputs analog audio signals.
A 3.5 mm mini microphone jack enables
connection of a three-conductor mini jack for
monaural microphone input.
An internal modem provides capability for data
and fax communication. It supports V.90 and
V.92. (In the U.S. and Canada, both standards
are supported; in other countries/regions, only
V.90 is supported.) The speed of data transfer
and fax depends on analog telephone line
conditions. It has a modem jack for connecting to
a telephone line. It is preinstalled as a standard
device in some markets. Refer to
Appendix E for technical information.
The computer has built-in support for Ethernet
LAN (10 megabits per second, 10BASE-T) and
Fast Ethernet LAN (100 megabits per second,
100BASE-TX).
