SECTION 8: MAINTENANCE
Disconnect power to the
machine when perform-
ing any adjustments or
maintenance. Failure to
do this may result in seri-
ous personal injury.

General

Regular periodic maintenance on your Model
G5787 Meatcutting Bandsaw ensures its opti-
mum performance. Make a habit of inspecting
your bandsaw each time you use it.
Check for the following conditions and repair or
replace when necessary.
1. Loose mounting bolts.
2. Worn switch.
3. Worn or damaged cords and plugs.
4. Damaged V-belt.
5. Any other condition that could hamper the
safe operation of this machine.

Table and Blade

Maintain your table and blade with a thin film of
food grade lubricant that will not support bacteria
growth and will not become rancid. These quali-
ties are important because some food grade oils
will become rancid over time and may cause ill-
nesses. Make sure that the product you use is
specifically designed for protecting food process-
ing machinery. Always follow the manufacturers
recommendations when using their products.

Lubrication

The wheel bearings are shielded and lubricated
for life; thus, they require no maintenance
throughout their lifespan. Occasionally lubricate
the tracking and height adjustment controls with
the same food grade lubricant that you use on the
table.

V-Belt

Avoid getting grease or oil on the V-belt or pul-
leys. Check the V-belt, as part of a monthly
inspection for proper tension and belt condition.
Cracking and glazing could result in belt failure.
Replace the belt if such conditions appear.
