Using the MX500 as a Hardware Plug-In
The Hardware Plug-in window in your recording software gives you all the same con-
trol and functionality as the MX500 front panel, with the exception of Input control
and System functions. All changes that you make in the Hardware Plug-in window
are reflected in real-time on the MX500.
SURROUND PLUG-IN
The MX500's Surround plug-in is a true surround reverb plug-in. Use this plug-in
within your surround mixes either as a 2-in / 4-out or 4-in / 4-out reverb effect.
STEREO PLUG-IN
The MX500's Stereo plug-in is a stereo input/output audio path for use in a single
stereo bus or stereo track. The Stereo plug-in can use one or two effects and offers five
routing options.
DUAL STEREO PLUG-IN A/B
The MX500's Dual Stereo A/B plug-ins provide two independent stereo plug-ins when
you need processing on more than a single track or bus. These plug-ins are labeled
Dual Stereo A and Dual Stereo B and each plug-in can be independently applied to two
different tracks or busses in your audio mix and run separately from the other. Each
plug-in offers one or two effects and five different routing options.
LOADING PROGRAMS (FIRST TIME USE)
When first using the MX500, you will begin by loading programs from the MX500
hardware. Loading MX500 programs as plug-ins is similar in both VST and AU envi-
ronments.

LOADING/SAVING PLUG-IN PRESETS
Once you have made edits to an MX500 program, you can save these edits as plug-in
presets in your recording environment (you cannot save edits back to the MX500 from
the plug-in view). Saving plug-in presets is different between VST and AU platforms
and procedures differ between recording software. Please consult your recording soft-
ware documentation on procedures for loading and saving plug-in presets.
If you don't want to save edits as plug-in presets in your project, you can just save your
project with the plug-in opened which will save the plug-in's current settings with the
rest of your project. Next time the project is opened, the MX500 will be configured just
as it was set when the project was saved.
