Chapter 13 Troubleshooting
I can make calls from a phone attached to the P-2024, but I can't receive them.
or
I can receive calls on a phone attached to the P-2024 but I can't make them.
1 Go into the web configurator and check the Status screen. Click the VoIP Mapping tab
if it is not already open.
2 Look at the column for the phone port you are using. Ensure that the correct icon
displays for each SIP account that you want to use with this port.
• If you want to use a single SIP account for both incoming and outgoing calls, it may
be mis-configured to be used for incoming calls or outgoing calls only. Change this in
the VoIP > Phone > Analog Phone screen.
• If you want to use separate SIP accounts for incoming calls and outgoing calls, one of
them may have failed to register (click the VoIP Status tab to check) or is
misconfigured in the VoIP > Phone > Analog Phone screen. If so, re-enter the SIP
account information.
• Reboot the P-2024.
If none of this helps, contact your VoIP service provider.
I can call some phone numbers from a phone attached to the P-2024, but I
cannot call others.
The P-2024's DNS (Domain Name System) server settings may be misconfigured, or the
servers themselves may be malfunctioning.
1 Check that the DNS settings are correct in the Network > WAN > Advanced screen.
2 If you still cannot call certain numbers and have the details of other DNS servers, change
the settings to use them.
It is also possible that the phones of the other person or people you cannot call
are malfunctioning.
If this does not help, contact your Internet service provider.
Some people can call a phone connected to the P-2024, but others cannot.
If you can receive some incoming calls but not others, examine the call forwarding settings. If
they are incorrect, certain calls may be mistakenly forwarded.
