Dear Customer,

Th ank you very much for having decided to purchase a
PHILIPS fax machine. We hope that you will have lots of
fun using your new laser fax machine. With your new fax
machine you can send and receive faxes, make telephone
calls, send and receive SMS messages, as well as make
copies. Th e machine prints on ordinary copier and type-
writer and photocopier paper. With the time stamp of
the Laserfax 855 you can verify the exact arrival time of a
fax transmission at its destination location. Th is function
remains operative even after a loss of electrical power.
For printing purposes, your fax machine utilises the
most up-to-date laser technology. Th e starter cartridge
that is delivered with your fax machine is suffi cient for
up to 1,000 pages. With the additional toner cartridges,
you can print out up to 3,000 pages. You will be able to
receive toner cartridges and other accessories through our
telephone ordering service (see reverse side).
You can connect the Laserfax 855 to your computer (PC
with Microsoft Windows® 98 SE · 2000 · ME · XP), and
can use the machine as a laser printer. You can also use it
to scan documents for use on your computer.
Please read the user manual carefully, and always follow
the safety instructions that are given there. Try out the
many and various possibilities of your laser fax machine.
You cannot damage the machine while making use of the
functions that we have described in this user manual.
