3-1-2. Precautions on Adjusting

The adjustments of this unit are performed in the VTR mode
or camera mode.
To set to the VTR mode, set the power switch to "VTR" (or
"PLAYER") or set the "Forced VTR Power ON mode" using
the adjustment remote commander (Note 1).
To set to the Camera mode, set the power switch to "CAMERA"
or set the "Forced Camera Power ON mode" using the
adjustment remote commander (Note 2).
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the "Forced VTR
Power ON Mode" or "Forced Camera Power ON Mode".

The front panel block (MA-358 board, microphone unit, audio/
video jack , MIC jack) must be assembled because the audio/
video jack is used for connecting the monitor TV. To remove,
disconnect the following connector.
MA-358 board CN7306 (26P, 0.5mm)

Cabinet (R) (CK-80 board, LCD block) need not be connected
except during "Battery End Check", "PLL Adjustment" and
"IR transmitter adjustments". But removing the cabinet (R)
(removing the VC-217 board CN2906) means removing the
lithium 3V power supply (CK-84 board, BT8600) , data such
as date, time, user-set menus will be lost. After completing
adjustments, reset these data. If the cabinet (R) has been
removed, the self-diagnosis data, data on history of use (total
drum rotation time etc. ) will be lost. Before removing, note
down the self-diagnosis data and the data on the history use
(data of page: 2, address: A2 to AA). (Refer to "SELF-
DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION" for the self-diagnosis data, and to
"5-4.Service Mode" for the data on the history use.)
To remove the cabinet (R), disconnect the following connectors.
VC-217 board CN2906 (60P, 0.5mm)

For extension between the DD-123 board CN3202 and VC-
217 board CN2902, use the following extension cable.
J-6082-395-A (80P, 0.4mm)

The viewfinder (LB-60 board) is need not be connected except
during "Battery End Check". To remove it, disconnect the
following connector.
DD-123 board CN5101 (27P, 0.3mm)

The lens block (FP-83 flexible) need not be connected except
during "Battery End Check". To remove, disconnect the
following connector.
VC-217 board CN2901 (50P, 0.5mm)

By setting the "Forced VTR Power ON mode" or "Forced
Camera Power ON mode", the video section can be operate
even if the FP-85 flexible board (VTR operation switch block)
and PS-4550 block (power switch) have been removed. To
remove them, disconnect the following connector.
VC-217 board CN2907 (39P, 0.3mm)
Note 1: Setting the "Forced VTR Power ON" mode (VTR mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 02, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the VTR power to be turned
on with the power switch block (PS-4550 block) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the "Forced Power
ON mode".
Note 2: Setting the "Forced Camera Power ON" mode (Camera mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 01, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the camera power to be turned
on with the power switch block (PS-4550 block) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the "Forced Power
ON mode".
Note 3: Setting the "Forced Memory Power ON" mode (Memory mode)
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 05, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
The above procedure will enable the memory power to be turned
on with the power switch block (PS-4550 block) removed.
After completing adjustments, be sure to exit the "Forced Power
ON mode".
Note 4: Exiting the "Forced Power ON" mode
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: D, address: 10, set data: 00, and press the PAUSE
button of the adjustment remote commander.
3) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 00.
