Fiber Node Cabinet System Manual
To avoid injury or equipment damage, follow standard safety and
handling practices and procedures when transporting and storing the
ADTRAN cabinet to a staging or installation site. Refer to these safety
procedures and the appropriate Marconi cabinet installation document.
Shipping Container
The cabinet should not be transported to the installation site until the concrete pad is cured and ready for
cabinet installation, conduit laid, and the site prepared for installation. The cabinet should be kept in its
shipping container and pallet until ready for installation at the designated site.
Lifting the Cabinet
Unpack the cabinet according to the instructions in Marconi document 640-205-001, Section 3.7, Lifting
the Cabinet. Follow all local safety practices while lifting the cabinet. Wear all locally approved safety
gear.
Pad Layout
The FNC mounts to a concrete pad or foundation. All conduits are under the pad and penetrate up through
designated openings in the mounting template. Local ordinances must be followed when constructing the
pad. Reference points must be pre-established so the pad can be placed and oriented exactly as planned.
Cabinet Mounting Template
The FNC System requires a permanently mounted template provided separately by Marconi. The template
must be installed in the concrete foundation pad. The template orients the mounting bolts and provides
access to conduits in the pad. The pad mount template kit (Marconi P/N F1002986) includes a metal
mounting template and the required fasteners.
The cabinet for this installation is the Marconi MESA Sport NT on Riser,
which requires the NT template. Legacy templates are not compatible and
cannot be used.
Refer to Cabinet Mounting Methods and General Pad Considerations in the respective Marconi cabinet
installation document: 640-205-001, MESA Sport NT on Riser, Description and Installation. The
document provides detailed pad construction and mounting procedures. After the cabinet has been securely
mounted the cabinet is ready for electrical connections to be made.
