What is covered?
Any defect in materialand productworkmanshipfrom personal,normal
householduse in accordancewith the Owner's Manual.
For how long?
MODEL2040L... 15 years on motor,3 years all other parts.
MODEL2040C... Lifetime*on motor,3 yearsall other parts.
*For as long as you own your home.
Who gets the warranty?.
This warranty is limited to the consumer who originally purchasedthe
product.
Geographic scope:
This warranty appliesonly to units installed andoperated within the
countrywhere they were purchased.

WILL NOT PAYFOR: LOSS OF TIME; INCONVENIENCE; L OSSOF
USEOF YOUR GENIE PRODUCTOR PROPERTYDAMAGECAUSED
BYYOUR GENIE PRODUCTOR ITS FAILURETO WORK;ANY SPE-
CIAL, INCIDENTALOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES;OR ANY
DAMAGESRESULTINGFROMMISUSEOR MODIFICATIONOF YOUR
GENIE PRODUCT.

warranty lastsor the exclusionof incidentalor consequential
damages,so the above limitationsor exclusionsmay not apply to you.
This warrantyis the only onewe will give on your Genieproduct,and it
setsforth all our responsibilitiesregardingyour Genie product.Thereare
noother expresswarranties.

you may also haveother rightswhich vary from stateto state and
provinceto province.
How to get warranty service:
To obtainwarranty servicefor your Genieproduct,you must provideproof
of the date and place of purchase of the product.

person to a trained Genie representative for assistance in diagnosing
the problem and arranging to supply you with the required parts for do-
it-yourself repairs. Trained service representatives are available
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time, and on Saturday,
10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Eastern Time (subject to holidays) You may
also get the information you need at www.geniecompanjzcom.
2.Service

Authorized
Dealers.
You also may obtain warrantyservice from Genie authorizeddealers by
calling the Genie CustomerServiceat 1.800.354.3643 or by visiting
www.genieoompany.com before schedulingwarranty service. If warranty service
is provided by an authorizeddealer,Geniewilt provide all requiredparts under
warranty at no charge to you, but the dealers are independentbusiness people
and may render a bench or service call chargefor their services. Geniewilt not
reimburseyou or otherwise be responsiblefor those charges.
We suggest that you retainyour original packing material in the event we choose
to repair or replaqceyour Genie Product and requestthat you ship it to us. Be
sure to include your name, address,telephone number,proof of date and place
of purchaseand a description of the operating problem. After repairing or
replacing,your Genie product, we will ship it to your home at no cost to you for
parts and labor, but you wilt have to pay a minimumof $5.00 for shipping and
handling charges.
Your choice of either one of the above-describedservice options is your
exclusive remedyunder this warranty.
What this warranty
does not cover:
Thiswarranty doesnot coverbatteries (which areconsidered replaceable parts),
installation, commercial use,defects resulting fromaccidents, damage whilein
transit t o ourservice location or damage resulting fromalterations, misuse or
abuse,tack of proper m aintenance, unauthorized r epairor modification o fthe
product, a ffixing of anyattachment notprovided w iththe product,programming o f
the Remote Control D evices, S afe-T-Beam® a djustment/cleaning, staples through
wiring,pinched or brokenwires,Carriage disengaged, ForceControl adjustments,
doorout ofbalance,brokensprings or cables,power outages, u seof extension
cords,missing or damaged partson discounted, clearanced, finalsaleor taped
cartons, p hantom operations ( laboris notcovered if Opener isfunctioning
properly whiletechnician is in garage),fire, flood, o r actsofGod,or otherfailure to
followthe Owner's Manual.
