Using the Darning Plate
Sometimes when you sew, you want to control the fabric
yourselfo The darning plate covers the feed dogs so the feed
dogs do not touch the fabric. To put on the darning plate:
NOTE: The rectangular holes in the darning plate match
the hotes in the needle plate
[] Position the darning plate with the 3 pins on the buttom
Fit the darning plate pins into the needle plate holes.
The feed dogs will show through the darning plate
holes.

Darning (P_38)
Buttom Sewing (P.,44)

0 Stitch selector: Aor B
(2) Stitch length: Any
0 Needle thread tension: 1 to 4
@ Darning plate
* Presser foot: Removed
Put the darning plate on the needle plate Place fabric, with
the hole in the center, on an embroidery hoop Lower the
presser bar and sew at a slow speed. Move the fabric back
and forth stowly until the darning area is covered. Turn the
fabric a t/4 turn ( 90 °) and sew another layer of stitching over
the first layer.
NOTE: If fabric is thin or badly damaged, use a separate
piece of fabric under the hole to reinforce it+
