Guide to On Screen Displays

DISPLAY menu
DVD mode
Press [DVD
] first.
With a disc inserted into the unit, press [DISPLAY] to
display the on screen display. The menu shows
information about what is recorded on the disc.

Displayed items vary depending on the actual
mode.
1 Disc type and format mode.
In some descriptions in this manual, only one type of
disc is indicated as an example.
2 Position number and audio status of the
programme.
3 Title number, chapter number and the
time lapse of disc playback.
4 Each icon means:
: Search
: Audio
: Subtitle
: Angle (except VR mode)
: Repeat
: Marker
: Noise Reduction
: Zoom
5 Recording mode and remaining time.
6 Status of the current disc.
VCR mode
Press [VCR
] first.
Press [DISPLAY] to display the on screen display.

3 Audio status of the receiving broadcast
or external equipment.
4 Audio status of the currently playing
back video tape.
5 Tape counter.
6 Recording or playing back speed.
7 Status of the current tape.
While in the VCR mode, the on screen display of the
VCR mode is displayed.
Setting menus
Press [SETUP] in stop mode to display "Easy Setting
Menu" or "Advanced Setting Menu". Choose either
"Easy Setting Menu" or "Advanced Setting Menu"
using [Cursor U
D], then press [ENTER] to

change between the menus.
"Easy Setting Menu" and "Advanced Setting Menu"
are available from the Setting Menu. The "Easy
Setting Menu" consists of the settings frequently
needed, while the "Advanced Setting Menu" consists
of all the settings available. You can set the items
marked with
in the "Easy Setting Menu."
The unit remembers which setting menu you used last
time and recalls it when you press [SETUP] in stop
mode next time, even if power is switched off. (i.e., if
you use the "Easy Setting Menu" and then turn the
unit off, the "Easy Setting Menu" will appear next time
you turn on the unit and press [SETUP] in stop
mode.)

Set the unit clock.
2 Channel:
