Reference level for recording in DV (SP) format
On many consumer DV devices, recording is carried out at
a reference level of –12 dB. Therefore, the reference level
for recording in DV (SP) format is fixed at –12 dB on this
unit. When dubbing DVCAM source material recorded at
a different reference level, it is recommended that you
carry out manual level adjustments as follows.

with the REC/PB
LEVEL control knobs.
