9-pin Serial Interface for Printer

Adaptability for devicerequiring 9-PIN interface
Work Flow Diagram

Overview
Currently, there are many hardware interfaces, like
USB, parallel port, and IEEE 1394. But traditional-
ly, all IBM PC and compatible computers were typ-
ically equipped with two serial ports and one par-
allel port. Modems, many display screens, mice,
and serial printers are designed to connect to a 9-
pin serial port. Because a 9-pin serial interface
ensures low cost integration into any device due to
minimal pin count, there is still a need for 9-pin ser-
ial interfaces for printers, such as POS printer
(receipt printer). Especially in the case of dot matrix
printers, customers' environments are designed
for 9-pin serial interfaces. If customers replace dot-
matrix printers with laser printers, they will require
9-pin serial interfaces to be supported.
Benefit
• Supports RS232C Serial Interface
(Baud rate: 115200 bps).
• Replaces Dot-Matrix Printer without I/O
exchange.
• Supports Epson Emulation FX850.
Brief Setup Guide
• Install hardware
(9-pin Serial Card in Network Card slot).
• Set the Baud rate of serial communication
(Com2 or Com1) to 115200 bps.
• Access the "Setup Menu" in the Menu Map,
RS-232C Baud rate should match PC serial
port speed.
• Check the test page and PC serial baud rate.
