Virtual disks are created and they are assigned as Virtual Adapter 1, Virtual Adapter 2, Virtual Adapter 3, or
Virtual Adapter 4. For more information, see
NOTE: You can map only one virtual adapter to one server at a time. Without an appropriate license, you can map
the VA to the default server, or unmap a VA–server assignment. The default mapping is VA1–Server Slot 1, VA2–
Server Slot 2, VA3–Server Slot 3, and VA4–Server Slot 4.
Using the Virtual Adapter feature, you can share the installed storage with the four servers. To unmap a virtual adapter
from a server slot:
1.
In the left pane, click Chassis Overview → Storage → Setup → Virtualization.
2.
On the Storage Virtualization page, from the Action drop-down menu, select Unmap, and then click Apply.
The VA is unmapped from the selected server slot.
NOTE: You can assign virtual disks to virtual adapters by selecting either the Single Assignment or Multiple
Assignment mode. For more information about these modes, see the

Viewing Controller Properties Using CMC Web Interface

To view the controller properties:
1.
In the left pane, click Chassis Overview → Controller .
2.
On the Controllers page, under the Controllers section, you can see the basic properties of the controller. However,

To view controller properties using RACADM, run the command racadm raid get controllers -o

Importing or Clearing Foreign Configuration

A foreign disk must be inserted into the chassis.
To import or clear the foreign configuration:
1.
In the left pane, click Chassis Overview → Storage → Controllers → Setup.
2.
On the Controller Setup page, in the Foreign Configuration section, for the respective controller, click:
Clear Foreign Configuration to clear the existing configuration of the disk.
Import/Recover to import the disk with the foreign configuration.

Viewing Physical Disk Properties Using the CMC Web Interface

Make sure that physical disks are installed on the chassis.
To view the properties of physical disk drives:
1.
In the left pane, go to Chassis Overview → Storage → Physical Disks.
The Properties page is displayed.
2.
To view properties of all the physical disk drives, under the Physical Disks section, click the
the following filters to view specific physical disk drive's properties:
