Belt tensioners

The seat belts are pulled down at the
buckles on a front or rear impact above a
certain severity. This tightens the belts.
Actuation of belt tensioners
Indicated by continuous illumination of
control indicator v.
Triggered belt tensioners must be replaced
by a workshop. Belt tensioners can only be
triggered once.
Control indicator v for belt tensioners
The function of the belt tensioners and
airbag systems is monitored electronically
and indicated by the control indicator v.
When the ignition is switched on, the
control indicator illuminates for approx.
4 seconds. If it does not illuminate, or if it
does not go out after 4 seconds, or if it
illuminates whilst driving, there is a fault in
the belt tensioner or airbag systems 3 58.
The systems might not trigger in the event
of an accident.
Deployment of the belt tensioners is
indicated by continuous illumination of v.
