Steering column lock and ignition
Turn key to position 1. Move the steering
wheel slightly to release the steering
column lock.
0 = Ignition off
1 = Steering free, ignition off
2 = Ignition on, for diesel engine:
preheating
3 = Starting
Starting the engine
Depress the clutch and brake pedals,
Easytronic 3 in N, do not press accelerator,
for diesel engine: turn key to 2 until control
indicator ! goes out, turn key to 3; release
key when engine is running.
Before restarting or switching off the
engine, turn key back to 0.
To switch on the ignition, only turn the key
to 2.
