Getting PWS or IIS Web server programs

You can go to Microsoft's Web site (www.microsoft.com) and obtain a copy of the PWS or IIS Web
Server program free. These programs can also be purchased at most software retail outlets. The
Web Server program must be running properly before installing the WebLinx programs.

Program Pages and Options

The Select Server page opens after you log into the Administrator program. Refer to the
Administrator Operations SSSSSS section if you don't have a WebLinx Server and/or system set up
yet. Common elements and program page descriptions are described below:

Using the WebLinx Server and IDK

Before installing the WebLinx programs, you should have PWS or IIS installed on the target PC
equipped with one or two NICs, and configured with the proper IP addresses. You also need to have
the PC, NIC, and WebLinx Server address information you recorded in the WebLinx Configuration
Log on hand to install these programs.

Web address Enter <PC Name or Web Server IP Address>/WebLinx to open the
program's main page. When you open the main page the first time, bookmark it in IE and
nest it in a WebLinx program folder.
Program options provide access to all the operations you can perform in the
Administrator program. You should also notice as you move the cursor over each option,
their text and background colors change to indicate which one is active.
Select Server sets the active WebLinx.
Server Links sets the links to Axcess/NetLinx Central Controller systems.
Preferences (Administrator account only) creates and modifies user accounts, and
enables/disables popup messages. The Preferences button only appears on the main
page if you are logged into the program as an administrator.
Administration uploads/downloads touch panel, IR, and Axcess/NetLinx program files
located on the WebLinx Server PC. Then, they can be downloaded to specific touch
panels and/or Central Controllers
Diagnostics combination of general communication, Axcess and NetLinx commands that
you can employ to diagnose and resolve system problems
About opens the About dialog box containing version and program information
Help opens the Help program containing detailed information about the WebLinx Server,
Internet Development Kit (IDK), and Administrator programs
Log Out logs out of the program
Active status bar displays the active user, WebLinx Server, and Axcess/NetLinx link
name. It appears on every page
