To Upgrade the SMS Software

When to use
Use this procedure to upgrade to the current SMS software release.
Before you begin
Before you begin this procedure, it is recommended that you perform a manual backup of
the Primary SMS database in the event of a system failure during the upgrade installation.
For instructions on how to perform a manual backup of the SMS database, refer to the
Manual Backup section of the SMS Administration Guide.
Should you need to restore the backed up Primary SMS database, refer to the To Restore
SMS Data on a Primary SMS section in the SMS Administration Guide.
Procedure
Use the following procedure to upgrade to the current SMS software release.

With the CD-ROM in the drive, open the Windows

the CD-ROM:

Double-click the file LSMS-9.4.xxx.exe where xxx is the build number of the software.

This is the installation program. Windows that indicate the progress of the unpacking and
setup during these processes are displayed first.
Upon completion of these processes a Welcome window is displayed.

Read the text in the Welcome window, and when you are finished, click

with the installation.

Scroll through the Software License Agreement, and if it is acceptable, click

proceed.
The Installation Key window is displayed.
