61 Using the software for the first time
3. If you have previously configured a Windows connection to the Fiery, you are ready to
use ColorWise Pro Tools. If you have not configured a connection, click Add.
4. Enter the appropriate information for the Fiery.
—Enter a name for the Fiery. This can be any name you wish; it does not

have to match the actual server name of the Fiery.
The nickname cannot contain any of the following seven characters:

—Choose the type of network protocol you are using from the pop-up menu.
Protocol
ColorWise Pro Tools is supported only with TCP/IP, so no selection is necessary.
—Enter the IP Address (or DNS or hosts name) of the Fiery.
Server Name
—Enter the name of the device the Fiery is connected to:

name appears in the Printer Setup section of the Configuration Page.
5. When you have added all the information, click Add.
6. With the device name (DC12) selected in the Devices list, click OK.
The Fiery appears in the list of available severs. The first line of the entry displays the
nickname you gave the server, followed by the protocol. The second line displays the
device name.
