6-7. Replacing the gauge
WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine, be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

• Move of the hook shaft saddle when replacing the gauge
) Loosen screws No. 2 4 of hook drvng shaft gears 3 .
2) Algn the needle wth the blade pont of hook.
3) Slghtly loosen screws No. 5 of hook drvng shaft gears 3 so that the screws does not come off the
flat section of the hook driving shaft.

Loosen four setscrews 6 of connectng lnk (asm.) 9 . (Sewng machne wth thread trmmer)
4) Loosen two setscrews 2 of hook shaft saddle 1 , and move the hook shaft saddle.
(At ths tme, the hook drvng shaft gears move as well.)
5) Set the clearance between the needle and the blade pont of hook to 0.0 to 0.05 mm.
6�) Tghten two setscrews 2 of the hook shaft saddle.
7) Tghten from screws No. 5 at the poston where the clearance between hook drvng shaft gears 3
and hook shaft saddles 1 s 0.5 mm. Then tghten screws No. 2 4 .

Make drvng arms 7 and 8 come n contact wth the drvng arm pn n the drectons of A and B
respectvely and tghten four setscrews 6 n connectng lnk (asm.) 9 . (Sewng machne wth thread trm-
mer)
6-8. Adjusting the thread presser spring

Insert a rod (thn rod, wrench, etc.) nto adjustng
hole 2 n thread presser sprng base 1 , and loosen
setscrew 4 wth a hexagonal wrench key of .5 mm.
Adjust the thread presser sprng by movng rod 3 n
the drecton of arrow mark A, and fix it with setscrew
4 .
Clamp trouble occurs even when the
thread presser spring pressure is exces-
sive or insufficient. So, be careful.
