GAS ANDOILFILL-UP
IMPORTANT: Theengineisshipped without gasoline andwith motoroil in the
engine.However, youMUST check the oil levelbefore operating.Be carefulnotto
overfill.Running the enginewith insufficient o il cancause serious enginedamage
andvoidthe enginewarranty.
Oil Recommendations
Beforestartingengine,check oil level,capacityis1700ml/57.5 fl. oz.Referto
viscosity chartbelowforoil recommendations. Donot over-fill.Useasyntheticor
non-synthetic 4-stroke, o r anequivalent h ighdetergent,premiumquality motor
oil certifiedto meetorexceed U.S. a utomobile manufacturer's r equirements f or
service classification SG, S EMotoroilsclassified SG, S F will showthisdesignation
onthe container.
SAE lOW-30isrecommended f or general, a ll temperature use.Ifsingleviscosity oil
isused, s electthe appropriate viscosity forthe average temperature inyourarea
fromthe chartbelow.

GasolineRequirements
Operatingthe enginewith EISor E85fuel, an oil/gasoline mixture, dirty
gasoline,or gasolineover30 daysold without fuel stabilizing additive may
result in damageto yourengine'scarburetor.Subsequent d amagewould
not be covered underthe manufacturer'swarranty.
Use automotive gasoline (unleaded or low leaded to minimizecombustion chamber
deposits) w ith aminimumof 87octane.Gasoline with upto 10%ethanol ( EIO)
or 15%MTBE (Methyl T ertiaryButylEther) canbe used. N ever u sean oil/gasoline
mixtureordirty gasoline. A voidgetting dirt, dust,or waterin the fueltank.DONOT
useE15 or E85 gasoline.
Gasolineis extremelyflammable andis explosiveundercertain conditions.
CAUTION: Donot usenon-detergent o il or 2-stroke engineoil. Itcouldshorten the
engine's service life.
NOTE: ASw30 syntheticoil maybeusedto improve start abilityforcoldweather
(temperatures b elow400F).
CheckingOil Level
NOTE: Besuretocheck the oil whileon alevelsurface with the enginestopped.
I.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick andwipethe dipstickclean.
2.
Insertthe dipstickinto the oil filler neck.Turnthe dipsticka I/4 turn into the
lockedpositionto fullyseat.SeeFigure 11.

Remove d ipstickto check the oil level.

If the levelislow,slowlyaddoil to the upperlimit onthe dipstick.SeeFigure
11inset.
5.
Reinsert t he dipstickandturn to locked positionbeforestartingthe engine.
flOTE: D onotoverfill.Overfillingwith oil maycause smoking, h ardstarting,
sparkplug fouling,or oil saturationof aircleaner.
Refuel i nawell-ventilated areawith the enginestopped. D onot smoke or
allowflamesor sparksinthe areawherethe engineisrefueled or where
gasoline isstored.
Donotoverfill the fueltank.Afterrefueling,makesurethe tankcapisclosed
properlyandsecurely.
Becareful n ot to spillfuelwhen refueling. S pilledfuelor fuel vapormay
ignite.If anyfuel isspilled,makesurethe areaisdry beforestartingthe
engine.
Avoidrepeated or prolonged contactwith skinor breathingofvapor.
Adding Gasoline
Anadult shouldfuel this engine.NEVER allow children to refuel the engine.
Gasoline(fuel)vapors arehighly flammable andcanexplode.Fuelvapors
canspreadand beignited bya sparkor flame manyfeet awayfrom engine.
Toprevent injury or death from fuel fires, follow these instructions:
DO NOT useleadedfuel.
